  • Developing a survey design that encompasses sampling, data collection procedures and instrumentation. Survey sampling includes defining the universe; researching the universe to determine past response rates that influence sample selection; randomness when appropriate to ensure a statistically valid sample group; and pre-/post-contact to positively influence response rates.

Survey Implementation Services

EDTEC provides survey implementation services that include:

  • Individual interviews for data collection—based on the size of the population to be surveyed, organizations may prefer personal administration of the survey to tease out additional pertinent information that may be missed by data collection that relies on written responses alone. EDTEC provides qualified and experienced staff to administer surveys both via the phone or in person.
  • Printing and Mailing Services – EDTEC utilizes database to track the printing, distribution and collection of survey instruments and to make follow-up contact with non-respondents at assigned intervals.
  • Development of an electronic delivery system for survey distribution—EDTEC utilizes web-based technologies to distribute and collect survey instruments electronically to lower costs and total time for data collection. Using this technology, EDTEC can electronically populate a database with respondent answers and begin analysis of data immediately lowering data entry costs. The system can also request respondents to submit answers to questions left blank or can prompt a personnel follow-up contact with respondent to complete the survey.
  • Contact to enhance response rates—Response rates can be greatly improved by pre- and post-contact with the survey population. EDTEC will devise a strategy that will maximize interest in responding to the survey among the targeted population through pre-survey and post-survey contact via the mail, phone, Internet, e-mail and/or personal contact as needed.
  • Collation, review and follow-up contact to ensure completion of the survey instruments—EDTEC will develop a system to ensure that respondents who submit surveys with incomplete information are contacted to determine if any additional data can be gathered.
  • Database design for housing of survey data—EDTEC’s Technology Division specializes in database design for warehousing information for analysis and distribution. EDTEC advocates for the delivery of surveys electronically whenever possible, to facilitate direct collation of data into databases for immediate analysis.
  • Database administration for access, analysis and reporting of data—EDTEC’s Technology Division provides expert administration and maintenance of databases that can include direct access to data via web-based applications.
